Sensitive People Need to do Things Differently

I was sitting in a cedar tub looking at the stars the other night when I had a thought.
Or really, it was more like a remembrance.
Each year around my daughter’s birthday, I take myself away for a night. I book a quiet Airbnb so I can slow down, reflect, and feel into my own energetic contours again.
As I sank into the tub, I realized I was holding a huge swirl of feelings inside me.
Leftover stress from the whole family being sick, the to-do lists of preparing for an incoming winter storm, a deep, aching grief over what is unfolding in our country right now.
I was brimming with intensity and overwhelm.
But then a voice drifted through me, reminding me of something that—even as a highly sensitive person who teaches other sensitives—I sometimes forget:
Sensitive people need to do things differently.
I wasn’t broken. I wasn’t defective. I was just trying to hold, manage, and engage with life in the way everyone else does.
And it wasn’t working.
Because as sensitive people, we need to do things differently.
Sensitive people weren’t built to metabolize all the blare and overwhelm of the world (try as we might).
We were built for subtlety.
To be able to listen deeply—to ourselves, to other people, to the Earth, to hidden currents of wisdom.
We were built to have the space to feel things profoundly, and to use that emotion to move energy within the world around us.
We were made to attune inward.
To follow the font of guidance that upwells from our core—and to make palpable change in the world by following that inner flow.
This is why a lot of conventional life and business advice just doesn’t make sense for those of us with sensitive nervous systems.
And why I often find in my business, and in the businesses of those I coach, that the wheels come off the moment I start trying to follow algorithms rather than my own authentic knowing.
As sensitive people, we’re here to help quietly revolutionize the world—not by forcing ourselves into systems that were never designed for us—but by using our sensitivity to attune to a deeper reality, and by doing that, anchor another way of being on this planet.
This is why I created Business as a Spiritual Journey.
I wanted to see a program designed specifically for sensitives and empaths.
A course that wasn’t just about downloading information, but about guiding you to be in direct relationship with your own inner knowing, so you can create a business that is aligned with who you truly are (and the impact you’re meant to make in this world).
Inside the course, we focus on crafting a business that is sustainable, not just financially, but energetically—one that supports you in becoming more yourself, not less.
So if you’re a sensitive who wants to create a business that centers you in your own being—allowing the gifts you carry within you to flow freely into the world—come join me for Business as a Spiritual Journey.
This 5-week course is on sale for nearly 40% off until this Thursday at midnight ET.
As a sensitive person, you are here to change the world—first by coming home to your own inner world.
And from there, entirely new, gentler, and more attuned ways of being can reseed our Earth.
