I just got back from my first-ever trip away from my daughter where the whole purpose was rest.
In the past it was much easier for me to justify time away for work, or to support a far-away friend after she had her baby…
But undertaking a four-day pilgrimage in the desert where the whole point was simply to encounter myself—and the greater arc of my life?
That felt like an outrageous luxury.
Confronting, divine, and a little frightening.
But also, profoundly illuminating.
Because once we see the bigger stories of our life clearly—like looking out over a high mesa at an even higher vault of stars—we can remember where we’ve been heading all along.
This is what this upcoming month of March is offering to us.
The opportunity to reframe our lives.
To glimpse the greater story we are living inside of.
