What am I doing in Southern France? | Ep. 40

Show notes
Have you ever had a dream come true? In this special episode, I pull back the curtain on my sabbatical, my next book, and the secret fascination that has guided my life for the past six years — the mysterious world of the Upper Paleolithic. Join me as I travel into the painted caves of southern France to meet our Deep Ancestors, and explore what their art, consciousness, and reverence for the unseen can teach us about what it means to be human — and how to imagine a new future for humanity.
IN THE EPISODE:
(0:00) – What I’ve been doing in southern France (and how it connects to my next book)
(3:45) – Understanding the Upper Paleolithic time period in Europe
(12:10) – Inside the Paleolithic caves: bison, horses, handprints, and torchlight
(23:39) – Who the Deep Ancestors were — and why their wisdom still matters
(30:41) – How connecting with them will help us imagine a new future on Earth

I strongly feel that in order to move forward we must go back…way back. I’ve been feeling the pull to the past and believe intuitively that many others who consider themselves as “sensitive” will feel it as well. Thank you for sharing this journey with us ❤️
Absolutely fascinating! Thank you Asia for sharing your wisdom! You continually open new windows of light for me!💛
Thank you so much for joining us and bringing your light to the explorations Laura!! I know Asia will be uplifted to see you’re as fascinated as she is by this topic 😊
I loved this particular post and am excited for your project. It is interesting to me that when I started ancestor work with guided meditations, there were several occasions where I was in a large open cave with a massive entrance where I was being ceremonially dressed by other women. I did not recognize any of them but they seemed to know me. These meetings inspired me to draw my “ancient ancestor” who now sits on my ancestor altar.🙏🏼
Hey Rebecca—wow, what a beautiful vision to have grounding in <3 Thank you so much for sharing it here. I know Asia would love to see your drawings of them 😊 I'm loving all of the resonance showing up around this topic—it seems they really have been calling deep and wide! Thanks for being a part of this path with us
I have, for a long time, been connected to a “ Caveman” version of myself. This version of me brings me comfort, how much change we have seen, as humans. We may be headed toward a similar existence, and will survive that massive change too.
Ohh, I love this idea of connecting to a “caveman” facet of our selves. I can totally sense how orienting that could be <3 Thank you for connecting Alice, and sharing how you are cultivating a way of being that can help through these times; Asia will love to see this, and to know that you're on the journey with her.
Wow, I just sat down to look through a book I checked out of the library and need to return called Dawn of Art: The Chauvet Cave. And I opened my inbox before doing so and saw your email. Crazy synchronicity! How wonderful you went on a solo pilgrimage to see the caves in person. I can’t wait to read your book when it’s released xo
Hi dear one, Shannon from Asia’s team here. Yes!! I love this—and I know Asia will too. When I first read your comment I saw “cozy synchronicity,” and it very much feels like that as well 😊 Happy to know you are sitting at this fire with us!
