What is Intuition?
All my life I’ve heard people talk about intuition without going deeply into what it truly is. In this video I talk about intuition from a place of groundedness, tangibility, and human history, with exercises to start accessing it yourself.
Now, I’d love to hear from you. Leave a reply below to let me know how this jives with what you feel or know about intuition. What did you think about this idea of intuition when you were growing up? I’d love to hear about your experience.

Beautiful msg. I found your site from the chestnut school, and immediately felt a connection to your messages, and resonated with them. I have had always a strong intuition and was always looking for the sign. Until I had a very hard time and a cardinal came to me, I took this amazing beautiful bird as my sign. And recently, after not knowing if I was on the right path, I asked for a sign…and again cardinals came into my path, and not on one occasion, they will come to me every morning for a week.
I took this as the sign that I needed, that what I am trying to achieve is the right thing for me. And I can’t wait to explore more, are there 1:1s available?
Hi Romina! What a validating experience, to have the cardinals return morning after morning like that. Nature repeating a message that clearly is earth intuition in action, meeting you exactly where this course is pointing. So glad the Chestnut School led you here, and glad it’s landing at the right moment.
For 1:1s, keep an eye on our newsletter, that’s where we’ll announce when new spots open up.
Thank you for this beautiful message. I always felt deeply that intuition is connected to the world around me, to plan, animal, stone teachers, to elements and our own bodies. Lately I have been truly feeling part of nature and have such a profound connection with the world around me. I’m still filled with fear to act on my intuitive insights, but this is a journey and the process that I am a part of and noticing is my first step. Feeling came next, then stillness. I’m slowly getting ready for action. Thank you so much. With love, Agnieszka x
Agnieszka, the movement you’re describing—noticing, then feeling, then stillness, then slowly readying for action—that’s not hesitation. That’s wisdom. So glad you’re here.
I chose gold as my sign because I took the quiz and Vein of Gold was my archetype. I put on my grandma’s gold ring and set the intention that gold would be my sign that I was on the right path, then went to sleep. The next morning I did my usual card of the day tarot reading. As I was shuffling, I realized that the deck I was using (The Forager’s Daughter) had gold edges. It was a nice thing to notice! I happened to draw The World card, which the artist illustrated with what she called a “flourishing ecosystem.” It seemed like the perfect match for earth intuition. Later I listened to a podcast on The World card and the host said that this card might show up in a reading to let you know you are “on the right path.” Those were the exact words of my request! It was beautiful to receive this message through the gold edged tarot card. Thank you so much for this mini course and for the opportunity to interact with the Earth in this way.
Hi Erika! Aleli here. So glad you shared this. There’s something so special about choosing a sign that’s already part of who you are—and then having it show up in such an unexpected, layered way. That kind of response from the world has a way of settling something deep.

Thanks for this teaching! So, the homework is to pick a sign, as in one specific being in nature to be the sign, that will always & forever be your sign? Is the idea that you just have one sign? With many thanks! 🌸🍄🌺🧚♀️🦊🌹🌈
Hi Phoebe! Yes, the idea is to choose one specific being from the natural world—an animal, a plant, an image—and designate it as your sign. The more specific the better, so rather than “a bird” it might be a particular species, for example.
That said, your sign isn’t set in stone forever. It can absolutely change and evolve over time as you do.
Hope that helps!
I loved how you identified our intuition as Earth Intuition. I can feel why. Mother Earth puts out frequencies. When we connect or are in touch, we harmonize with her by which you say beautifully say, “we offer our medicine to the Earth”. We become the healers of Earth and in people’s lives. People can do beautiful things.
Normally I follow the Earth’s Intuition, but at this time I am not so sure. I am at big junction in my life to leave what I know and is a comfort to me. The decision I make could impact the trajectory of my life.
There are days where I feel her pull stronger than other days. And there are days where I second guess my Earth’s Intuition believing perhaps I am under a spell that could run out when I take on this job. I have dreams about a particular symbol (🇺🇸). I have a spirit guide in particular keeps nudging me along the way. Should I trust my Earth’s Intuition and spirit guide? Thank you taking the time reading
Hi Cory! What a beautiful reflection on the teaching—thank you for sharing where you are right now.
The tension you’re describing, feeling the pull clearly on some days and doubting it on others, is such a human part of navigating big decisions. Asia talks about how signs and synchronicities are one of the ways our intuition communicates—and that the more we welcome and recognize them, the more guidance comes through. What stands out in what you’ve shared is that the nudges keep coming—through your dreams, through your spirit guide, through those stronger days. That kind of consistency is worth paying attention to.
Wishing you so much clarity as you move through this junction.
I’ve often had deja vu, or knowing, but I’ve not asked for specific types of signs. I’ve asked generally a few times for “a sign”, and never felt clear on the sign- so I stopped asking for signs. Now, I’ll ask for a specific sign- thanks!
Mary, that shift from general to specific is where the magic tends to live. Can’t wait to hear how it unfolds!
I never thought of it as intuition as when it comes up, it is very inconvenient and socially risky. Meaning, my partner, who is very outgoing and notices *everything* with his eyesight, sometimes is impatient/confused with me when I know/feel something without seeing or hearing it. Let’s just say, we have left early several venues before we were ready, and glad we did. I look forward to opening up to this feeling, knowing again, as I think I have done myself a dis-service shutting it out for the sake of soothing relationships with humans. This past year, I have been rekindling my relationship with the more than human world. I have been passive in this, maybe stepping gently into it, waiting maybe for a sign I’m welcome? … I will start asking questions 🙂
Hey Jane! Wow, I am glad you’re here! I’m probably biased, but I don’t know of a more supportive place to continue honoring your intuition for the super power that it is 😉 I love that you trusted yours in those earlier circumstances, even without quite knowing what “it” was, and being faced with misunderstanding.
On that note, it makes all the sense in the world, and is *so* normal to have quieted it down for others’ comfort: for many folks who find their way here, that process can begin even in early childhood, and we find that bringing gentleness and patience to our own practice of unfurling is what, paradoxically, can help things flow the most. We’d love to hear how your practice with asking for a sign goes, and I’m sending a warm and hearty “welcome” from the team.
Hi Asia. Thank you so much. I like the idea of just asking for a sign especially for me that I ask myself at times, how will I know if this is right? Thank you for this course .
Thank you for joining us Donna, welcome! You are so not alone in sitting with doubts—it’s a very common phenomenon, especially for sensitive souls, You’re in the right place to practice really tuning to how your own intuition feels, and beginning to trust it when it comes in.
We’d love to hear how things are going as you feel called to share!
